York Chess Club will meet tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at In Between Pages bookstore, 113 S. Duke St., York. Come in for some friendly games of chess and some book browsing. Beginners are welcome and you don’t need to bring any equipment.

Tonight is also the start of Give Local York’s Big Give! If you donate to York Chess Club’s GLY campaign between 7 p.m. tonight and 6:59 p.m. Friday, you’ll help us get a bigger chunk of the Stretch Pool and qualify our organization for special prizes.

Our fundraising goal for 2026 is 2,000 donors and $20,000. With that amount we’ll be able to host a second Brian Costella Memorial Chess Tournament, along with other special events like the return of Burgers and Blitz! We’ll also seed youth chess teams and clubs across York County with chess mini-grants and work to build a York County scholastic league and championship!
