Starting this week, York Chess Club will meet Wednesdays from 6 to 8 p.m. at The York Emporium, 343 W. Market St., York, PA. The group had previously been meeting at the downtown used book and collectibles shop on Friday nights. The move to Wednesday will help the owners close up earlier on Friday nights so they can enjoy some extra family time. We are happy to oblige and thankful for the wonderful meeting space! UPDATE: This article is out of date. The York Emporium closed in early 2025, so York Chess Club is no longer meeting there. We do have regular downtown York meetings on Thursdays from 6 to 8 p.m. at a new location, In Between Pages – The next chapter of the The York Emporium, at 113 S. Duke Street, York.
