Brian Costella, founder of York Chess Club, has pancreatic cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy. Due to his illness, he is unable to work or attend chess club functions.
Brian is an Army veteran and a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. He has helped build a large and growing chess community in the middle of Pennsylvania and has been a great mentor to many chess players, young and old. He’s also been a great friend to me, and my son, Max.
Club co-founder, Jessica Collier, and I have set up a GoFundMe to help Brian. All funds raised will go straight to Brian and not York Chess Club.
