Chess sculptor Tim Myers featured on Fox 43

York Chess Club member profiled on TV news

York Chess Club member Tim Myers discussed his life as a chess player, tractor mechanic, and artist in a feature on the Fox 43 news last night. The segment showed Tim working in his shop and discussing his creative process. Also included was a sneak peek of his large knight under construction. I think it will be his most impressive sculpture yet!

In case you missed it, here’s the Fox 43 video.

If this is your first time reading about Tim and his creations, here’s some background. Tim is a retired tractor mechanic and chess enthusiast with a creative side. For the past few years he has been working on a set of steel chess sculptures in various sizes. The largest is a glossy black king that stands about 12 feet tall. He is currently finishing a large knight.

His larger pieces are currently stored away, but drive by his shop on 323 N. Lake Road, Paradise Township, PA, to see his chess-themed mailbox display newly decorated for Spring! He plans to have his larger pieces completed and decorated in time for an outdoor Halloween display in October.
