Tournament Calendar
York Chess Club holds a monthly USCF-rated tournament — the Kreutz Creek Quads — on the fourth Saturday of the month at Kreutz Creek Library in Hellam Township, PA. All skill levels are welcome.
Kreutz Creek Quads
Where: Kreutz Creek Library, 66 Walnut Springs Rd., Hellam Township, PA 17406
When: Fourth Saturday of each month
Registration: 10:00–10:30 a.m. on tournament day (cash only for day-of entries)
Capacity: Limited to 50 players — register early to guarantee your spot!
Sections
Open Section — $20
For USCF members of all ratings. Must hold a current USCF membership. Join USCF here.
- Format: Quads — groups of 4, each plays the other 3
- Time control: G/40; d5
- Rounds: 10:45 a.m. / 12:30 p.m. / 2:15 p.m.
- Prize: $50 to the winner (ties split evenly)
Non-Rated Section — $5
Open to unrated players and USCF members rated below 1000. A fun, low-pressure introduction to competitive chess. Players under 1000 may choose either section.
- Format: Quads or Swiss, based on entries
- Time control: G/20; d5
- Rounds: 10:45 a.m. / 11:50 a.m. / 1:30 p.m.
- Prize: It’s a SURprize!
Good to know
- Rounds can start early if all players in a quad agree.
- No food available at the venue — pack a lunch.
- Eating and drinking permitted in the main tournament room only.
- Bring cash for day-of registration.
